Our Story

SleepDawn started in 2024 as a side project by a sleep researcher and a developer who shared a frustration: finding reliable, personalized sleep advice online was nearly impossible. Generic tips like "avoid caffeine" and "keep a regular schedule" are useful, but they don't address the why behind individual sleep struggles. Why does one person thrive on 6 hours while another needs 9? Why do night shifts affect some workers more than others? Why does menopause suddenly make sleep elusive?

We began building calculators — small, focused tools that let people input their own data and receive personalized, evidence-based output. The first tools were simple: a nap calculator based on sleep cycle science, and a caffeine metabolism estimator using pharmacokinetic models. The response was overwhelming. People wrote in saying these tools helped them understand their sleep in a way no generic article ever had.

Since then, we've grown to over 116 tools across 11 categories, supported by a comprehensive knowledge base and a growing team of expert reviewers. We remain independent, self-funded, and committed to keeping our core tools free. Our revenue comes from non-intrusive advertising and ethical affiliate partnerships — never from selling user data or promoting unproven supplements.

We're headquartered in Qingdao, China, but our team and users span the globe. Sleep, after all, is a universal human experience.
